Frequently Asked Questions

RERA Agent Registration FAQs

Common legal and procedural questions regarding broker licensing and statutory compliance across State Authorities.

What is the difference between Individual and Company/Firm RERA registration?
An Individual license is issued in the applicant's personal name and is suitable for sole proprietors and freelance real estate advisors. A Non-Individual license is issued to a business entity (Partnership, LLP, or Private Limited Company). Corporate licenses require Board Resolutions, MOA/AOA, and audited balance sheets, and their statutory government fee is higher under the applicable state Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules.
What are the penalties under Section 9 & 10 of RERA for operating without a license?
Under Section 9 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, no real estate agent can facilitate the sale or purchase of any registered real estate plot, apartment, or building without obtaining a valid RERA registration. Under Section 10, failure to comply can attract a penalty of ₹10,000 per day during the period of default, extending up to 5% of the estimated cost of the plot or apartment brokered.
What is the validity period of a RERA agent license, and how does renewal work?
A RERA Real Estate Agent certificate is generally valid for a period of 5 years from the date of issuance under state regulations. Renewal applications must be submitted at least 3 months prior to the expiry of the existing license along with updated ITRs, books of accounts, and renewal statutory fees.
Do you guarantee the issuance of my RERA Agent Registration certificate?
No. We are an independent private advisory firm. The authority to grant, query, or reject any RERA application rests exclusively with the relevant state Real Estate Regulatory Authority. Our role is strictly limited to rigorous document auditing, formatting, resolving name mismatch issues, and authorized filing support to maximize procedural accuracy.
Can I pay the government registration fee directly to the RERA portal?
Yes, and you must. All statutory government fees are paid directly by you via net banking, debit card, or treasury challan to the official State RERA bank account through the respective official authority portal. Our firm only invoices for our private consulting and file compilation services.
